How Long Do Unpaid Tax Liens on Your Credit Report

Tax liens stay on your credit report for a period longer than any other negative information.  Even bankruptcy filing its deleted from your credit report after seven to 10 years.  If you want to know when a tax lien will get deleted from your credit report then the first thing to do is to order a copy of your credit report and see how that lien is being reported.  In case you have paid a taxi and that it is still being reported as unpaid initiative dispute that error with the credit bureau.  Once the record in the Federal Court is updated the information in your credit will change as well.  In case you have paid your tax lien the record will get deleted from your credit report seven years after the date made the payment.  If the tax lien is unpaid it will stay on your credit report for a period of 15 years.
